DVDs/VOBs
.VOB files are video files that later can be burned to DVDs without loss of quality.
I would love to receive snail mail DVDs if that is your preference, as long as they are guaranteed to be Region 2 compatible (I'm Norwegian), but my end will at this point exclusively be sent in VOB format.
Ratios
1 DVD = 1 DVD
1 two-disc DVD = 1 two-disc DVD = 2 single-disc DVDs
1 DVD = 3 audios (I'm aware that this is stricter than most)
Please feel free to contact me for further information, screencaps etc.
PLEASE NOTE THAT COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE DVDs WILL NOT BE TRADED!

39 Steps, the
Broadway 2009 Arnie Burton, Charles Edwards, Jennifer Ferrin, Cliff Saunders.
"The 39 Steps is a play adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock. The play's concept calls for the entirety of the 1935 adventure film “The 39 Steps” to be performed nearly verbatim onstage, but with a cast of four. One actor plays the hero, Richard Hannay, an actress plays the three women whom he has romantic entanglements with, and two other actors play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women, children and even the occasional inanimate object. This often requires lighting fast quick changes and occasionally for them to play multiple characters at once. Thus the film's serious spy story is played mainly for laughs, and the script is full of allusions to (and puns on the titles of) other Alfred Hitchcock films, including Rear Window, Psycho and North by Northwest”
Well filmed from the balcony.

Covered up during applause, filmed around heads but good most of the time. The show, however, is in my opinion only very slightly amusing. Wednesday's songs are the only ones I consider worth my time. ¤

Blood Brothers
1994 Australian Tour Delia Hannah (Mrs Johnstone), David Soul (Narrator), Stefan Dennis (Mickey)
"The first act is filmed complete from the balcony from a performance in Melbourne, with decent quality but sometimes not following the action. The second act is filmed from various locations backstage from a Sydney performance such as from the wings, behind backdrops and from the stage manager's desk. You can even see the actors and actresses making their various entrances."

London March 2010
Melanie C (Mrs Johnstone), Philip Stewart (Narrator), Stephen Palfreman (Mickey), Richard Reynard (Eddie), Vivienne Carlyle (Mrs Lyons), Louise Clayton (Linda), Michael Southern (Sammy), Owen Oldroyd (Mr Lyons)
"The video is filmed from the horribly raked back stalls of the Phoenix, which does mean some heads in the bottom of the screen (as can be seen in the caps), but they are shot around very well and completely avoided whenever possible. All the action is well-followed using a variety of shots, and the colors are faithful to the original, with little to no spotlight washout. Overall, a good video of an amazing cast."

DORRARPAGLANT MASTER
"Consists of footage filmed throughout two shows and spliced together to make a single DVD. Filmed from two different angles: the dress circle and back stalls. Due to the Phoenix's inconvenient setup, neither position is completely free of head obstruction, but they are filmed around effectively. The action is followed very well using a variety of shots as needed, and the colors are faithful to the original.
Marilyn Monroe 2 is missing and there are a couple of other brief blackouts during some dialogue scenes."

Norbert Leo Butz, Aaron Tveit, Tom Wopat, Kerry Butler, Rachel de Benedet, Felicia Finley, Linda Hart
According to another trader: "A nice capture of the Seattle preview toward the end of it's run. Some very quick blackouts, none last more than 30 seconds or so. Very little obstruction, just heads on the bottom and the right, mostly in wideshots, and they're hardly noticeable. It does get pretty shaky in places, and there's a little washout here and there, but nothing horrible. The sound is excellent."

Les Magical Miztory Tour (10 years of Pent Up Angst)
Sydney, Australia, 9th of April 1998
Dave Willetts (Valjean), Rachael Beck (Fantine), William Zappa (Thénardier), David Campbell (Marius), Theresa Borg (Cosette), Natalie Mendoza (Éponine), , Scott Irwin (Enjolras), Chris Fennessy, cast and crew of Les Mis.
Pro-shot for video, made for cast & crew only. Very entertaining show. Contains pre-show footage shot by Chris Fennessy and a trailer for a similar show by the Phantom cast, "Phantomime". Quality is good, I believe the sound is patched in from the soundboard - on two-three occassions it falls out, but it never lasts for more than a second or so.
As explained by another trader: "Cast & crew of Australia's Les Mis. in their annual Easter Charity benefit, each of Cameron Mackintosh's Australian shows participates at midnight after their regular performances. These shows feature the cast members parodying songs and other shows, with a slight tilt towards their own productions."

Shot during the opening night presentation of the show, mostly wide shots from the balcony. Highlights only, but almost all of Act 2 is there. If you're unfamiliar with the show, I recommend that you check out the OCR and leave this video alone - I found this Toronto performance painfully bad, yet I rather enjoyed myself when I saw it live in London. ¤

Said to have some incredible closeups. According to another trader: Very clear image, no colour bleeding and no generation loss. The video is shot from the first row of the balcony so the proportions are slightly distorted and there is sometimes an abstruction of view at the bottom of th picture (feet are cut off, or the barrier is visible), but the picture is clear, never blacks out, and there are a lot of close-ups. The camera focuses after the prologue but no important detail is missed.

Good DVD, well worth a look. Filmed from the Mezzanine (row 4 would be my guess). Very slight favouring of Stage Right. Some cover-ups, mostly during scene transitions/applause. According to another trader: "Shot in the 4-5th row of the dress circle, few brief cover ups, but sound and picture are amazing." ¤

Non-Equity tour. Well-filmed, crystal clear picture but with a few blackouts - mostly during transitional sections, most damagingly during the first half of "I Want to Be a Producer". Glitchy throughout the show, but not in a way that really impedes viewing. Great cast, for me Leo was the stand-out performer. Moments to watch out for: "I Want to Be a Producer" finale (he hits that final note beautifully) and the "Springtime for Hitler" section. ¤

DORRARPAGLANT MASTER
"The video is shot from side stalls with virtually no head obstruction. The show is gorgeous visually and I have tried to capture as much of this as possible. Thus, the video is a combination of wide shots showing off the elaborate sets, well-used projections and bigger ensemble numbers, and close-ups and medium shots in dialogue scenes and solos. The complex lighting of the show itself does make for both some spotlight washout and some darker scenes, but the colors are gorgeous for the most part. Overall, it's a great video of a wonderful show."
